Sarah graduated Southampton University in 2011 with a BA in Music where she specialized in solo Musical Theatre singing and ensemble singing in the classical and popular style. Along with performance, she also studied arranging, composition, music in education and orchestral and choral conducting. Before going to University, she had achieved ABRSM Grade 8 in classical and musical theatre singing, ABRSM Grade 6 in piano and ABRSM Grade 5 music theory. Since graduating she has gained a BTEC level 3 in 'Preparing to teach in the lifelong sector'.
After graduating she became the singing teacher for 'The Academy Of Music And Sound' in Southampton and taught group vocal lessons to the students of LIPA 4:19 (New Forest and Southampton) on Saturdays. She also taught singing at Wildern School and musical directed 5 different choirs and her own adult and youth theatre groups.
Sarah moved to Didcot (South Oxfordshire) in 2016 and along with teaching privately from her home, worked for Oxford Music Services visiting several secondary schools to teach singing and do a project with Christchurch Cathedral choristers and local primary schools. She now teaches mainly from home teaching singing, piano and music theory lessons along with teaching singing at Didcot Girls School and conducting her choir 'Vocalize' who meet on a Wednesday night at the UTC, Didcot.
She is currently on maternity leave until July 2021 and when she resumes teaching, will be based in Grove, Wantage.
Sarah is a very versatile singer who has been performing throughout her life. Having initially been trained classically, she then moved on to be coached in musical theatre and popular styles such as pop, rock and jazz, so can cover a range of musical styles depending on what is needed.
After becoming a keen fitness fanatic in the lead up to her wedding in August 2016, she then began her training to be a fitness instructor. She is now a qualified personal trainer, antenatal and postnatal specialist, gym instructor and exercise to music class instructor.
